Ideas for Free

Just want to start sharing and in-turn documenting my random marketing ideas. You know the ones…we all have these “ideas”.

Saw this article today and thought of this idea…

First, let me say that McDonalds did the right thing in shutting the #hashtag promotion down. But shame on them for not having prepared for the negative noise by developing their own white noise posts.

Also, shame on them for not looking at Walmart’s “People of Walmart” social media woes. A quick look at http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/ would have helped the team understand how something so innocent can be converted to mayhem.

BACK TO MY idea…

Idea:
What if McDonalds put in a photobooth/kiosk at their restaurants with a video cam connected to internet. I saw Dell do this at a trade show to recruit customer testimonials.

Other benefits:
Photo booths are a novelty and kids would Luv it! “Luv’in it at my local MickeyDs #McDstories” Target those teens and kids without giving them toys!
