Digitally, Location Is Where It’s” At Geo-location was the hottest thing at SXSW http://nyti.ms/9fyov9
At SWSX the theme was definitely location, location, location. The confusion most of us had was which application do I use and better yet…which one will our friends be on? FourSquare was the most prominent even though local sensation Gowalla had the homecourt advantage.
The Gowalla CEO was a no-show in front of an large audience expecting a heated debate with FourSquare co-founder Dennis Crowley. This was a big mistake to leave 100+ iphone toting twitter-heads waiting and wondering. Mr. Crowley definitely stole the show and I overheard many of the attendees were pondering the demise of their Gowalla application.
IMHO none of this matters much at all. Once Twitter, Apple’s iGroup and Facebook become more location-aware these new startups may become fossils on the internet ocean floor. After all who needs another application to log into?
What do you think?
Dennis from FourSquare made a good case as to why B2B loyalty programs should remain interested in FourSquare. Given the kind of metrics on behaviour they will be able to aggregate. Wouldn’t a restaurant want to know when their “best” customer comes in the door or even their “worst” critic. I hope Mr. Crowley introduced himself to the Bazaarvoice CMO, Sam Decker ( fellow speaker at event) because I think their apps have some great syngergy.
Enough of my rant…check them out yourselves here:
Thanks for reading!
Domino’s never had the best tasting pizza but they perfected expected delivery time. I think that they may have another hit with “Pizza Tracker“!
First of all, I love their order confirmation page that shows your pizza in every step of the process.
No more wondering where the pizza guy is or IF he is coming.
I even know the name of the delivery guy when he comes to the door see below “Brian”
Want to get good feedback personalize your survey too. Are you really going to diss Ursala
for being skimpy on the cheese or toppings? Harder to give 2 stars to a real person!
The ordering system could use some improvements like automatically saving my last three orders or something to that effect. But all in all I loved the post order system and it blows the competition’s doors off!
Try them next time you need some quick grub in under 30 min! Link to buy some PIZZA!

“freshmen will use an iPhone or iPod touch to receive homework alerts, answer in-class surveys and quizzes, get directions to their professors’ offices, and check their meal and account balances – among more than 15 other useful web applications already developed
Freedom to walk around my office/home used to be much harder. I had a wireless headset with a teathered dialer piece. Not bad, but nothing like what I have today. My new headset is crystal clear and has dual earpiece…helps to drown out outside noise. It truly works 200+ feet away from my office…I forgot I had it on and started to drive off before it dawned on me. LOL.
It gives me free hands to brainstorm on my whiteboard, type away on my computer or just make my lunch. Nobody can tell it is a headset and the the mute button makes it perfect for conference calls.
Disclaimer: I have used this product successfully for over 30 days now and I get NO payment for this recommendation.
